The Average Person in the U.S. Lives 28,740 Days (How will you use yours?)
28,740 is the number of days an average American will live. Some people will live longer, and unfortunately, others will die sooner. This is the average when you factor men and women together with the latest U.S. data. Below I have listed out a way to figure out the average number of days you have left to make new memories, spend time with those you love, try new things, accomplish your Soul Goals, check things off your Victory List and enrich your life. Thinking about this number is not meant to be a grim reminder. No, it’s the opposite. Your number is here to motivate you to make every single day matter. You can use this formula to empower yourself and gain perspective on what is important.
To find out the number of days you may have left, take your age and multiply it by 365 (days in a year) then once you get this number subtract it from 28,740 (days in the average U.S. lifetime)
For example, if you are 30 this is how you would calculate it out:
30 x 365=10,950 then take 28,740 – 10,950 = 17,790
So if you’re 30, on average, you have 17,790 days left. (This is an approximate amount because today probably isn’t your birthday and the formula doesn’t account for leap years, but it’s still a great visual to understand that each day is precious)
How will you use your days? Wisely, I hope. Don’t stay at a job you hate or in a relationship that isn’t healthy and waste days, months or even years. Decide right now do things that matter to you and help make this world better so others can have brighter days as well.
At the end of your life, I’m sure you won’t be worried about emeaningless possessions you did or didn’t accumulate, the titles you earned… I think instead you will be thankful for the memories, the people who inspired you, those you inspired and if you have regrets it will be because you wish you had your priorities right earlier. Don’t die with regrets, use your days consciously because each one that goes by can’t be lived again. Live in this moment and make miracles (acts of love) happen for people around you and you will see incredible things happen in your life.
“Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”
